Must be valid for your entire stay in the UK.
Format: Original. Bring all previous passports too.
UK visa applications are submitted online at gov.uk/apply-to-come-to-the-uk.
Format: Online submission confirmation with GWF reference number.
Proof of payment of the visa fee.
Format: Online payment confirmation. Standard Visitor: GBP £115. Priority (optional): GBP £500.
The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) must be paid before you receive your visa. It funds your NHS access.
Format: Online payment at immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk. GBP £776/year for students.
Financial evidence must be held in your own account for a continuous 28-day period ending no more than 31 days before your application.
Format: Official bank-stamped statements or electronically generated certified statements. 6 months of statements.
Confirms your employment, salary, approved leave dates, and that your position will be held on your return.
Format: Original on company letterhead, signed by HR or management.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies — issued by your UK institution. Without this, your application cannot proceed.
Format: The CAS number is a 14-character reference. Your institution emails it to you after you accept and pay a deposit.
Official confirmation of your place at a UK HEI with CAS reference, course name, and duration.
Format: Official letter from your institution's admissions or international office.
Most student visas require proof of English proficiency: IELTS UKVI (not regular IELTS), LanguageCert, or Trinity College.
Format: Original or certified copy of test results. No older than 2 years.
Demonstrates planned departure and specific visit agenda.
Format: Printed airline booking confirmation with both outbound and return flights.
Confirms where you will be staying with full UK address.
Format: Hotel booking confirmation OR signed invitation from UK host with their full address and proof of UK status.
Documents that prove you have obligations requiring your return home.
Format: Property title deeds, business registration, family registration documents, lease agreements.
